Some super observations
February 5, 2017 § 21 Comments
It’s that day of the year again and:
- I only know one of the teams who’s playing.
- Traffic on the 101 is nonexistent.
- I saw my first Nuttall’s woodpecker.
- The parking lot at the pier in Santa Barbara is empty. On a Sunday.
- I don’t have to ride my bike to have fun.
- The wheel in the sky keeps on turning.
- The less you want the more you have.
- A good cup of coffee is good to find.

Dog, do I hate Journey…
The owner, coach and quarterback of one team are unabashed Trump supporters so I’m here on the couch rooting for the Falcons
Peregrine?
Never mind. You were right.
We actually got a great look at an osprey, too.
The winning team is named after a bird and shares the same colors as the Nuttall’s Woodpecker. All is right in the world in this moment. Peace.
To you, too! Plus, no wait for crab cakes!
Sadly, I spoke too soon and cursed the birds. Brady pulled out his 12 gauge and blasted them to smithereens. Bastard!
The quality of my day remains unaffected by who hit the winning touchback on penalty 3-pointers.
Nice Seth. Don’t know much about woodpeckers, but appreciate an alternative to NFL bullshit. Thanks for the post…
Welcome!!
I found the ads insipid, the halftime show completely inane, and the game outstanding…..I know I am an old POS, but is it possible that all this hype, including political inference and interviews, are finally “over
the top?”
Is it possible that it has always been profoundly stupid and as you have now become extremely old, and time is at a premium, you are unwilling to fritter away precious minutes on stupid things?
Oh wait … you read this blog …
Time for a new theory …
I believe watching the Super Bowl and pledging to BBQ on the 4th of July are requirements for anyone interested in becoming a citizen of this great country.
The number of such people appears to have plummeted in recent months.
No, they have never been more people trying to become citizens according to latest tweets. It’s just the media obviously aren’t covering it…
If the facts are different from what I say, they’re fake facts. QED.
Pats WIN … Make America Great Again !
What is a Pats? What did it win? What is a great country? And why again?
The thing about football that’s always been a downer for me- other than the concussions and other injuries- is that it’s too little real action. Theres too much standing around. The game clock for yesterday was 64 minutes yet the ball was only actually in play for 16 minutes and 4 seconds. And the whole 4 hour broadcast took up 20% of my DVR storage space. I think I fast forwarded all but about 20 minutes of it. There were a couple of great throws and catches but……eh. The cyclocross world championships were much more worth watching.
The thing about sports for me is that I don’t like them.
